What is Rambling on Bikes?
Rambling on Bikes is the brain child of Olivia Walcott and Dylan Gonda that was developed in an effort to record our adventures and act as an umbrella from which all of our adventures can take place under! In the future we plan on riding the Baja divide and "Hemistour" under the Rambling on Bikes umbrella!
The first large scale adventure under the Rambling on Bikes umbrella was an attempt at the Bikepacking Triple Crown! Dylan attempted to race the Arizona Trail Race, Tour Divide, and Colorado Trail Race in an attempt to break Jay Petervary's cumulative time of 27 days, 18 hours, and 33 mins for all three races! Unfortunately, Dylan suffered a sever ankle injury and had to pull out of the Tour Divide after 1,000 miles. He plans on completing the Colorado Trail in 2022 to complete his Triple Crown!
Who are we?
My name is Dylan Gonda and I have been an avid cyclist for most of my life. I started off riding bikes around my neighborhood but soon took to road and mountain bike racing and traveled all around the Midwest in search of the next big race! In the summer of 2016 I raced in the Tour Divide mountain bike race and finished in a respectable 22 days. This was my first bikepacking race and needless to say I was hooked! In the years since the Tour Divide I have ridden my bike around Lake Superior as a part of Great Lakes Great Stories, bikepacked all over New Mexico, and continued to race in local cycling events.
Olivia's bio will be here soon!
